The last link above is to a photograph of a staged execution in 1905. The people are actors and the guillotine is a theater prop. I believe the photo was made into postcards proving that people back then had the same morbid interest in guillotine executions as we have today.

In 1905 Anatole Deibler was the only executioner for all of France and the guy in the top hat is definitely not him. The guillotine is not the 1872 Berger model which should have been used in 1905.

All history of guillotine is a cruel story and a part of our history. In many times against innocent people
(french revolution for example)
Al right.I 'll give one link more for fallbeill soon but it will be a criminal case

Don't be angry, the words I said were a little too extreme, I realize that.
But you know, I'm not particularly proud of French Revolution because all the innocents who died in the most unfair way.
Plus, many books already spoke about Revolution, and I'm the kind of guy who likes to learn new things : famous crime stories such as Landru or Petiot bores me. Crimes which happened in France but weren't too publicized are the things I prefer to read about !

The other reason I don't do a page about Fallbeil is the lack of time : this site is absolutely free and the books I'm writing are a way to earn a little money. As I'm currently unemployed, I can't be stupid !

Personally, I don't see guillotine as a cruel thing, cause I'm for death penalty.

And I will be delighted to read about the last post, fallbeil for a real criminal !
