Cette image est vraiment amusante car elle va a fond dans les cliches sur la revolution francaise. Les bourreaux habilles en sans-culottes, la guillotine avec son systeme de relevage du couperet "a roue", la tricoteuse assise sous l'echafaud, les spectateurs agitant des drapeaux.
A ce propos, un truc amusant: les drapeaux sont bien observes, conrairement ace qu'on nous sert en general. Les costumes aussi d'ailleurs. La guillotine, c'est une autre affaire. Cependant, pour etre juste, il existe une gravure de l'epoque qui montre une guillotine avec ce systeme. Donc l'illustrateur sauvera sa tete!

Of course the drawing is very" fantastic" and far away from reality but also has his own historic value.

I agree. what I wanted to say is that it is full of cliches, but the cliches of the xxth century! This picture is obviously from our time, the drawing is very much like an modern illustration for a school book or something similar. And yet, the illustrator did not seem to have the correct informations. The drawing skills are fine, but not the historical accurracy.
From this viewpoint, yes it is a interesting document.
